'We can keep talking about strategies, to do's and superficial stuff. I don't really believe that's the problem here...', I told Steve during a coaching session.
After very courageously quitting his well-paid job, we got to focus on starting his own business. Steve's a great guy: humble and driven.
He kept bringing up his challenges with discipline, and shared about his failed attempts to consistently take action towards his dream.
'You're sitting here like a deflated pudding and I hear zero passion in your voice... Let me ask you one question.', I said.
'Are you actually SOLD on yourself? Do you actually believe this is going to work out?'.
A long silence filled the room, and sent shivers to my spine. When this happens, I know something 'hit' my client.
He emotionally said: 'No, you are right. I don't believe I can do it.'
I once heard a great idea during an event, by Karan Rai: 'You can't outdo who you're being.'
If who you're being is 'This isn't going to work out' and 'I don't have what it takes', then nothing you will do, is going to actually make an impact.
Like that, there's no power in your actions.
We got to work on changing the internal story, so his Being could shift. And from there on out, the rest flows automatically.
